✨ Description of the experience
Discover one of the most important astronomical centres on the planet with this guided daytime visit to the Teide Observatory, in Izaña. You will learn in an enjoyable way about the work of its researchers and the role of the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias, the institution that manages this solar observatory.
During the visit you will receive an introduction to the importance of the Canary Islands’ skies and their telescopes, take part in an astrophysics workshop at the Visitor Centre and observe sunspots and solar flares through two solar telescopes. In addition, you will step inside a night telescope to learn about how it works and its history.
A guided experience available in Spanish, English, French and German, suitable for the whole family from 8 years old and free for children aged 8 to 16.

🔭 Introduction and astronomical context
Your guide will explain the importance of the Canary Islands’ skies, the telescopes of the Tenerife Observatory and the projects of the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias.
🔬 Astrophysics workshop
You will take part in the astrophysics workshop at the Visitor Centre, where you will learn what astrophysics is and how astrophysicists work.
☀️ Observing the sun
You will observe sunspots and solar flares through two solar telescopes made available to you.
