✨ Experience description

The excursion starts with the pick-up in the tourist area of Lanzarote you have selected. From there you head for the south of the island, with a photo stop in the village of Yaiza, before entering one of its most remarkable landscapes: Timanfaya National Park, also known as the Montañas del Fuego.

Once inside the park you will follow the Ruta de los Volcanes by coach, a route of approximately 50 minutes through the heart of Timanfaya. Along the way you will see craters, volcanic formations and vast stretches of lava while you learn about the history and the features of this landscape created by volcanic eruptions.

Then you will reach the Islote de Hilario, where you will discover that the volcanic activity of Lanzarote is not just a thing of the past. Geothermal experiments are carried out in this area, showing how the heat is still present beneath the surface.

Before leaving Timanfaya, you will have the chance to round off the visit with a camel ride through the volcanic landscape. This activity is optional and is booked separately.

Finally, you will head back to your pick-up area. In total, the excursion lasts approximately between 4 and 6 hours, depending on factors such as the size of the group, the transfers and any unforeseen events.

🎒 What to bring

To enjoy the excursion in comfort we recommend bringing:

• Closed, comfortable trainers.
• Clothing suitable for an outdoor activity.
• Sun protection.
• Water to stay hydrated.
• A camera or mobile phone to photograph the volcanic landscapes.
• Some form of photo ID, especially if you are entitled to a rate based on age or another condition.

You do not need to bring food for a lunch stop, as this excursion does not include or allow for a stop to eat.

• Operating days: Tuesdays and Thursdays.
• Languages: Spanish, English and German. Up to three languages may be combined on the same excursion.
• Transport: coach for the travelling and for the Ruta de los Volcanes.
• Food: there is no stop for lunch (lunch not included).
• Accessibility: the activity is not accessible for people with reduced mobility.
• Children: there are different rates for adults, children from 2 to 11 years old and infants; babies from 0 to 1 year old pay 0 €. Minors must be accompanied throughout the visit by a responsible adult.
• Terrain: some sections may be uneven, rough or slippery, so closed trainers are recommended.
• Group: the size may affect the length of the transfers and of the route.

• Costa Teguise: approximately between 08:00 and 08:25.
• Arrecife and Playa Honda: approximately at 08:30.
• Puerto del Carmen: approximately between 08:45 and 09:15.
• Puerto Calero: approximately at 09:20.
• Playa Blanca: approximately between 08:20 and 09:30.

The timings are indicative. The exact information about your pick-up is confirmed once the booking has been made. The times may be affected by the size of the group, incidents during the excursion or other external factors.

You must be ready and punctual at the pick-up point indicated on your voucher. If you do not turn up on time, the coach will carry on with the route and no refund or change of booking is offered. During the service it is also important to follow the guide’s instructions and to keep to the times set for each meeting point.

On some pick-up and return services there may be a change of coach to speed up the transfers when the vehicle cannot start the excursion directly.
